Responsible Gaming at Harry's Casino

Most people gamble for fun and stay within what they can afford. This page explains how we help keep it that way: the limits and breaks you can set on your account with us, the signs worth watching for, and the organisations that offer free, confidential help.

Our commitment: gambling is entertainment, not income

Gambling should be one form of entertainment among others, paid for out of money you can comfortably afford to lose. It is not a way to earn, to clear a debt or to win back what has already gone, and treating it as one usually makes both the losses and the worry worse.

We would rather you played within a budget you set yourself than spent more than you meant to. Every account with us includes free tools for capping what you spend and for taking a break.

  • Decide before you play what you are willing to lose, and treat that figure as the price of the entertainment.
  • Set a deposit limit so the decision is made once, rather than in the middle of a session.
  • Gamble only with money you have spare, never with borrowed money or money set aside for bills.
  • Watch the clock as well as the balance; a session limit or a reality check will do it for you.
  • Take losses as part of the game and never raise your stakes to chase them.

Our games are for adults only. You must be at least 18 to open an account, deposit or place a bet with us. We hold a gaming licence, which requires us to verify the age and identity of every customer, and we take that duty seriously.

The tools in your account, and how to switch them on

All of our safer gambling tools are free, apply across your whole account and sit in the safer gaming area of your account settings, next to the cashier. You can set them yourself at any time, or ask us on live chat or at support@casino-harrys.co.uk and we will put a limit in place for you.

Deposit, loss and spend limits

A deposit limit caps what you can pay in over a day, a week or a month. A loss limit caps the net amount you can lose across the same periods, and a spend or stake limit caps how much you can put into play. A new or lower limit applies as soon as you confirm it. A request to raise or remove a limit takes effect only after the cooling-off period and the extra confirmation shown in your account.

Session limits and reality checks

A session limit ends your session once the time you have chosen is up. A reality check interrupts play at an interval you set with a short message showing how long you have been playing and how you stand, so you can decide whether to carry on or stop.

Time-outs and self-exclusion

A time-out locks your account for a short period, from one day up to the longest option shown in your account. Self-exclusion is longer and firmer: your account is closed to play for a minimum period that you choose, you are taken off our marketing lists, and we will not accept you back while it runs. When it ends, the account stays closed until you ask us to reopen it and a further cooling-off period has passed.

  1. Sign in and open your account settings, then the safer gaming section.
  2. Choose the tool you need: a deposit, loss or spend limit, a session limit, a reality check, a time-out or self-exclusion.
  3. Set the amount or the length of the break and confirm it.
  4. Keep the confirmation we send to your registered e-mail address.
  5. If you cannot find a setting, or you are not sure which one fits, use live chat or e-mail support@casino-harrys.co.uk.

Signs that gambling may be becoming a problem

Problems rarely announce themselves. The statements below are the ones people most often recognise before they ask for help, so read them honestly. If more than one or two sound familiar, set a limit or take a break today.

  • You play for longer, or for more money, than you planned to.
  • You chase losses, raising your stakes to win back what has gone.
  • You gamble with money meant for rent, bills, food or someone else.
  • You borrow money, sell things or hide spending in order to gamble.
  • You think about gambling at work, at home or when you are with family.
  • You feel restless, irritable or low when you are not gambling.
  • You hide how much you gamble from the people close to you.
  • You have tried to cut down or stop and found that you could not.

None of this is a diagnosis, and a yes does not mean the worst. It does mean it is worth talking to one of the organisations below, all of which are free, confidential and used to this conversation.

Where to get help, free and in confidence

You do not need to be in crisis to ask for support, and these services also help the partners, parents and friends of someone who gambles. We will not pass your details to any of them without your consent.

  • GambleAware funds free information, advice and treatment for gambling harm and can point you to the service nearest you.
  • GamCare provides free, confidential counselling and treatment for anyone affected by their own or someone else's gambling, in person and online.
  • GamStop is the free national online self-exclusion scheme: one registration blocks you from the online gambling sites taking part, for six months, one year or five years.
  • The National Gambling Helpline offers confidential one-to-one support every day of the year, whether you are gambling yourself or worried about someone else.

You can reach all four by searching for them by name. Your GP, a free debt advice charity or a local counselling service can help too, and many banks now let you block gambling payments from your card or account.

Keeping under-18s away from your account

Our site is for adults, and keeping minors out depends on both of us. We check the age and identity of every account holder using the documents and electronic checks set out in the cashier and in our terms, and we may ask for them again at any time.

  • Keep your log-in details and payment cards to yourself, and never let anyone else use your account.
  • Sign out at the end of a session and avoid saving your password in a shared browser.
  • Use a device passcode and separate user profiles if children use the same computer, tablet or phone.
  • Install parental control or filtering software, which can block gambling sites on a device or across your home network, and switch on the family settings built into your operating system and app stores.

If you think someone under 18 has used your account, tell us on live chat or at support@casino-harrys.co.uk straight away. We will close the account to play, look into what happened, void any winnings and return deposits in line with our terms.
